Nature is made of fragments — shapes, textures, colours and rhythms that coexist, transform and reappear in new forms. Shells, corals, stones and organic matter carry traces of time, movement and life, reminding us that everything in nature is connected and constantly evolving.
The Echoes of Things from Nature brings together these fragments in a textile composition that evokes the diversity and richness of marine ecosystems. Through crochet, knitting and repetitive needlework, Marita Setas Ferro creates a vibrant assembly of organic forms inspired by corals, shells and other living structures found in the ocean.
Each element is unique, yet part of a larger whole, reflecting the interdependence that sustains natural systems. The interplay of colours, textures and shapes generates a visual rhythm that echoes the constant transformation of the underwater world.
More than a representation of nature, this work translates its intelligence into form, celebrating creativity, interconnectedness and the possibility of giving new life to materials through care, time and repetition.
