After passing through London and the United States, the sculpture Luminiscent Corals, by the Portuguese artist Marita Setas Ferro, now arrives in Portugal, bringing a reflection on the fragility of marine ecosystems. The textile piece, with strong visual and sensory impact, will be on display at the International Art Biennial of Espinho, between 16 June and 30 August.
The work is composed of wool, polyester, acrylic and polyamide yarns, combined with reused copper rings and LED lights. It was designed to be suspended on the wall, with a dimension of 180 x 80 cm and an approximate weight of 12 kg.
This work by brand founder Marita Moreno investigates the materiality of the wire as a drawing instrument in space, while valuing manual work. As already reported, Luminiscent Corals was created in 2024, following the series Things of Nature.
