August 2026 - Marita Setas Ferro selected as a Finalist for the Circle Foundation for the Arts Chicago Contest

Portuguese artist Marita Setas Ferro has been selected as one of the 30 finalists of the Circle Foundation for the Arts (CFA) Chicago Contest, standing out among more than 182 participating artists from a diverse range of artistic practices, styles and media.

The international selection was organised by the Circle Foundation for the Arts, whose curatorial process sought to identify distinctive approaches to contemporary art while bringing together diversity, inclusivity and artistic quality.

According to the Circle Foundation for the Arts, the selection process was particularly competitive, with more than 182 artists participating and only a limited number of works progressing to the finalist stage.

The organisation highlighted its intention to present a broad spectrum of notable approaches to contemporary art, combining established standards of quality with perspectives that feel fresh and unexpected.

Within this context, Marita Setas Ferro’s work stood out among the international submissions, earning her a place in the final group of 30 artists.

As a result of this distinction, the artist has also been invited to present her work in connection with the Chicago Art Fair, extending the international visibility of her artistic practice to the United States.
