August 2026 - Marita Setas Ferro selected for the 101 Art Book: Pattern Edition

Portuguese artist Marita Setas Ferro has been selected to be featured in the upcoming 101 Art Book: Pattern Edition, published by the Arts to Hearts Project, an international platform dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the voices of women artists from around the world.

The selection follows a highly competitive international open call that received a significant number of submissions from artists across the globe. After a careful review by the Arts to Hearts Project’s editorial and curatorial team, Setas Ferro’s work was chosen for inclusion in this special edition.

According to the organisation, her submission stood out for its clarity, creativity and thoughtful engagement with the theme of pattern, earning her a place alongside artists from its global creative community.

The recognition reflects an important dimension of Marita Setas Ferro’s artistic practice, in which repetition, texture, materiality and organic structures become a visual language. Through textile sculpture and mixed-media works, the artist often draws inspiration from natural forms — particularly marine ecosystems — exploring the relationship between art, nature, sustainability and environmental awareness.

As part of the selection, the artist has also received an official Selection Certificate from the Arts to Hearts Project, acknowledging her inclusion in the publication.
