Marita Setas Ferro’s artistic practice is highlighted in Issue 9 of Artiste Culture, under the title The Language of Touch. The feature explores an approach that moves fluidly across disciplines such as textiles, sculpture, and design, proposing a continuous language grounded in sensory experience and direct engagement with materials.
Rooted in an early, intuitive relationship with matter—shaped by time spent in a ceramics studio—her work evolves into textile-based sculptures where techniques like crochet and knitting are reimagined as systems for construction. Within these works, repetition, accumulation, and growth become structural principles.
Often inspired by organic and marine forms, her pieces invite physical engagement, emphasizing the tension between softness and structure, fragility and persistence. Rather than functioning as static objects, the works emerge as fields of relation—between hand and material, body and form.
Marita Setas Ferro’s participation in Personal Structures 2026 in Venice further situates her practice within an international dialogue on intersection, materiality, and lived experience.
